Smile I Hear Y'all...

Believe me or not, after Weiring out several roof shovels here in the Lakes Region, I guess that I should have broken all ties with the Snow Gods before moving to Dallas/Fort Worth... Been snowed in here since days, so I talked with Google..., and they are working on an App that will put the snow (where We Want IT)... Coming to you're neighborhood soon.

OK, so how thick is the ice out there. I remember at this time 2-3 years ago it was nearly 3 feet. Last year at this time it got to about 18 inches. I'm wondering if it even got to 12 inches this year. It certainly isn't going to get thicker now

We were fishing in the Whortleberry Island area late last week and there was about 18" of ice in most places. We did notice that there was open water starting to show along the shore in spots, especially on south facing shores where there were rocks absorbing the sunlight. Areas near bubblers had also opened up considerably since the Rotary Derby weekend. The Hole in the Wall had open water all the way through. Without a major cold snap, I'd say those with earlier dates in the ice out guessing contest will be the winners.

Default There are easier ways to wash your car!

A local Boston radio station used to run a contest called "big bucks for stuck trucks" where you guessed when the first college student in a uhaul would run into the Fiedler foot bridge on Storrow Drive.

We need a "big bucks for sunk trucks" contest.
