Don't know what is happening. I just went and found the ForumFest link again and it seems like a fundraiser Mount Washington Cruise that was held last August and perhaps is something that happens each year? I must have looked at it before as I remember some of it. The link has pictures etc.
Think that throwing chili at someone at the fest next time or having the ForumFest just a code for a FoodFight is just some being silly here??? Guess I just misunderstood. Sorry. Doing too many things at once. Sorry too late at night.

Ayah, silly stuff as in local yokels misbehaving. We aren't always serious. The forum fest is a legitimate annual social gathering and fund raising event.

Goin' out on a limb here...as a relatively new poster...

The Bob House rocks!! And Kevin is a fabulous bartender.

If you're there on a Friday night, look for me in the bar and say hello. : - )

Welcome to the forum! Kevin is a good bartender and I will ask him to point you out on a Friday.

We are sort of new to the lake, been going there for years but now we are purchasing a home in Melvin Village area and bought a boat to go with it. This will be a great summer. We have gone to the Bob House a few times when we are up and we really enjoy it. Great bartenders and we love those cottage fries. Yumm..

Anyone know if the tiny cottage shops next to the Bob House are going to be open this year? I was not sure if they were still in business. We also enjoy the Bob House when we are up. Looking forward to summer!

Default Bob House

We went to the Bob House for the first time this past weekend.
We sat in teh dining room with a few other customers. I can say that the food was average. Not sure if I would return anytime soon for the food. However the bar was very busy. I might return for a few cocktails in the near future.

Default went wednessday 4/21

The place seemed remarkably busy for a mid-week night. the bar seemed lively.

this was my second visit to the Bob House. The food was good and value was very good. Just don't go there if you are in a hurry. Service was slow. They gave the entire dining room to one young lady (Brianna) to serve and she couldn't keep up. I don't think anyone could. She must have been waiting 8-9 tables, with most seating at least four people.

My last visit was to close out last season (so late Oct or early Nov) and the same thing happened then. Maybe it is related to the difficulty finding off-season help?

No doubt I'll go back - but with the understanding that the pace of dinner will be beyond "leisurely"....

Am hoping to get to The Bob House tonight. In the past ten days have been to Canoe, then the story telling evening with dinner at the Corner House (that may now be over for the season but happens on Thursday evenings off season), Vilage Kitchen for the turkey dinner, The Lobster Pound for the twin lobsters and Sam and Rosie's for the lobster rolls. I tried to get the large non fat soft serve at Flurries yesterday but they were closed so settled for the MacDonald's hot fudge sundae (this on my way to Lowe's for garden things). When some restaurants are closed Monday and Tuesday this time of year it is hard to get to to some that I want to visit. I know schedules will change as it is too early to support the same type of schedule that we see "in season". Fingers crossed for the Bob House tonight but will have to see if other half of the dining group is looking at Kevin's or Lemon Grass. This is the last night for some.

Thank you! I haven't been back to the Bob House since I posted that...it seems like life got in the way...!

I'll be back.

(Actually...when I was there in March with my daughter, a nice man named John gave up his bar stool to me! ; - )

We went to the Bob house twice over the last couple of weeks. My wife had a wedge salad with haddock and I had haddock. Prices were very reasonable both meals under 12. I would not rank it with Kevin's for seafood but was very good especially for the price. Wine was also reasonable. Neither night was very crowded but could see it being noisy if the place was full. We will go back again later this summer

Thumbs up Great experience

4 of us went to the Bob House this evening and had a really great meal. Our waitress was very attentive and so very pleasant. We will be going back again.

I dig the Bobhouse despite its location. The food and service is always wonderful.....but, riding the gauntlet through the wonderful town of Moultonboro and their "fantastic" (that was sarcasm) police department after even one beer makes me nauseous just thinking about it.

Do the speed limit and use your turn signals!!
