Thumbs up "Downtown Grille"—Thumbs-Up for Breakfast...

Tuesday, the place was packed for breakfast at 10-AM; however, that's the one day that the Wolfeborough Diner (just down the street) is closed for the day. The Wolfeborough Diner is their nearest competition on the street, and has astonishingly fast and cheerful service. At "Downtown Grille", one orders at the counter, and the servings are brought to your table by staff.

All of the new interior is remarkable—nicely done, new owners!

We managed to get one of the [only] two window seats—not that it mattered, as there was no boating or any other kind of activity outside.

The window seats are sunny—and as it was a bit warm, we could control the breeze coming off the water by cranking open a window. If more cooling is needed, a side door adjacent to the window tables opens outside to the Town docks.

The "private area" was occupied at the time, and looked like an interesting spot for a small group to gather around an elevated TV set: seated where we were, we heard nothing coming from the TV: But like Johnson's in New Durham, there is no attempt to moderate the ambient noise level inside. (Depending on the crowd, that noise level can be quite high).

The Breakfast menu is written in "upscale" language. It was pricey but tasty fare. Our table was generally delighted with everything.

I don't know how they'll manage the business with relatively few tables. (Just one person occupied a table with a connection to the provided Wi-Fi.)

Otherwise, it's a very welcome addition to downtown Wolfeboro.
