The Lobster Pound stays open. Cactus Jacks and T-Bones are also open year round. Worth the short drive is Lyon's Den our favorite, their bar is casual, as is everything once the leaves fall. Patrick's is also open year round and is always good. Most of the places in Meridith stay open all year. Fratello's in Laconia also stays open.
The Weirs itself becomes a ghost town, but a ten minute drive gets you to places that are not very busy in the off season. Once the lake freezes, usually around New Years, you will often see eagles fishing the channel. They can be seen in the tall pines along the road near the channel and eating their catch on the ice near the Weirs or at the entrance of Paugus Bay. It is rather nice to be there in the winter, but it is different and very quiet. There is no traffic!!!! R2B |

I'm listening to a third alarm being toned out on the Wide Open Saloon / AKA the Smoke House, I don't think that will be an option for a while. Might present some interesting traffic problems on the bridge, at least today..
