I will usually frequent a restaurant based on its reputation for the quality of their food and their service. I'm not interested in whether or not the owner is an a$$ or not as I will more than likely never have to deal with him/her.
Do any of you watch Hell's Kitchen on FOX? I would LOVE to eat at one of his restaurants.

To each his own...I just don't like giving my money to a known a$$ when there are other options available.

As for Gordon Ramsey, as a customer if he used his famous catch phrase on me, I'd walk out and go to one of Tom Colicchio's restaurants.

Default Oh come one now.

When’s the last time you got that beautiful babe with the car, or the tool or the house?
Deception is used ALL the time in sales. Look in the paper at auto section; it’s not uncommon to find in small print the stock number of the real car that’s on special not the one pictured.
With the economy down many like myself have not been out to eat in a long, long time.
I would prefer to stay at home and enjoy a nice dinner relaxing in front of the TV.
All they are trying to do is appeal to us in hopes that we will come in and eat.
If the altered picture helps then it’s worked.
Besides, where does it show docks or mention lake access?

Well...Where's the owners comments on this one? I find it interesting how he/they selectively respond to the post's they want. And the car ads are what make a lot of people think it's a sleazy industry. Carefully read the ads on TV (if you have the time to) they state "starting at $18,600, price as shown $26,800" Huh????? Oh I forgot the car mfg made 16 at $18,600

Is there any chance that some nice person could post the new Lobster Pound menu w/ the 10-dollar dinner entrees, and the bar appetizers? Thanks in advance!

The difference between Gordon Ramsey and some of the biz owners on this forum is that Gordon Ramsey is acting...most of the time.

I think I'm going to take the boat and drive right over to the LP and tie up out front. I can see it now, eating app's on the deck and over looking my boat sitting in the new LP channel. LOL

Exactly....and some folks won't eat at his restaurants because of his "acting" rather than the reputation of the quality of the food and service at his restaurants. Actually, I think more people WOULD be willing to give him a shot just based on his passion to put out a good product and his intolerance for inferior products.
Passion can and often does make the difference between success and failure of a business.

Default A Closer Look

If you examine the ad very closely I believe we could find conclusive evidence that the Lobster Pound is also responsible for the unrest in the Middle East, World Famine, the current economic condition of the country and the immigration issue!

Hey! I just think that it is funny that one of the most talked about eating places has more info about themselves on their website than anywhere else that is controversial. I've never eaten there, but I trust soem friends who have. I would gladly go and not expect to tie up at the dock. LOL.

Direct from their web site:

It's easy to see why the Lobster Pound, just yards from Weirs Beach on beatiful Lake Winnipesaukee, is a favorite of locals and visitors alike. Our guests are welcome to stroll our indoor and outdoor decks overlooking the boardwalk and sands of Weirs Beach, or if you prefer, relax in our well stocked lounge with an extensive wine list and big screen televisions to watch your favorite sporting events.

Usually we refer to yards when we are talking about FOOTBALL. How many yards? 100? Or maybe more like 800 or 900 yds? Or maybe more?

If Photoshop can put the LP on the waterfront, than can Photoshop put my face on Kim Kardashian's body?

Default You are wrong sa

I think it's funny that we are spending some late summer attention on the LP, but I also think that the ad is deceptive. Their web page backs up my assertion as well. Yards? BTW, I'll be in Concord this coming Saturday, You want to get a cocktail and some pizza?

Laughter at another person's expense in usually not good.

I have no horse in this race, but it does not seem right to me. Maybe we should comment on the food or the service or the wait time etc more and less on the silly things.

Default This is not good for Weirs reputation

I for one as an outsider looking in, most of the time. I try to get as many people I know to visit the Weirs area in order to share my love for the lake.

If someone who has not been to the lake saw this ad, they would think that the LP is on the waterfront, and that is just wrong. I have never been impressed with the restaurant, I keep trying, hoping it was just a bad time, but it really is not for me.

I agree that the ad is misleading and that is wrong. There should be truth in advertising. However, 10 entrees for $10.00 is telling us that there are some meals that are reasonable etc so why beat a dead horse.

Also should someone arrive and want to be on the water, they see that LP is not on the water and can drive to another place. They know when they go in that it is not on the water afterall. Why they started this with such an ad seems just dumb.

Peace!

Default off base

I simply cannot believe the play this place gets from this forum...I'm quite sure they don't mind.
And, as someone who has participated in many LP threads, I felt the need to post my opinion on this matter.
First of all, the deal they are offering (35 for dinner for 2) caught my eye when I drove by this past weekend and read their message board , and we are planning to have dinner there on Thursday because of it.
Regarding the ad...I'm very surprised at most reactions here. I find no problem with it, and don't think the person who designed it had any intention at all of misleading people. I don't believe they wanted people to think "wow, look...it's water front!" They just wanted a "lake theme" in their ad...that's all. They have the right.
And I applaud their effort to keep people coming thru the doors as the weather begins to turn.
Also, I'm quite certain the ad space was not free...so they are spending money, and contributing to the local economy.
In my opinion, this thread is just an example of "piling on".
Misleading? Deceptive? Give me a break...

There is another thread for that, the first post in this thread was about the advertisement and the image it reflected. (no pun intended) It is about how the WBLP represents itself and, unlike some threads, people have chosen to use the mis-representation and really bad photoshopped picture as a source for humor rather than namecalling. That may be a good thing, we can all use a good laugh.

Now .... time to reload on the popcorn.
