Generally speaking if the machine is over a certain age then you are better off looking for a new one. What you might do is post the problem and someone on the forum might be able to help you. I just saved my mom a new dryer by diagnosing the problem over the phone. She had heat and heard the motor turning but not the drum. There are only a few things that could cause that. I told her it was probably a broken belt which my son stopped by a verified. Installed new belt cleaned out inside and she was good to go. Also there are many on line parts suppliers with price savings ranging up to 50% over the dealer and they are exactly the same part. So that being said a washer is more complicated but it is worth a shot. Good luck with it and if it was me I’d steer clear of Sears repair service. |

Yes, do tell us what the symptoms are. In my experience, many washer problems aren't all that difficult to repair yourself. Inadequate agitation and water pumpout might be just a belt in need of retensioning or something like a stone from someone's pocket jamming the water pump. Failure to fill, especially if set for just cold or hot water, might be just a need for a new mixing valve. As someone else said, parts are readily available online, and you could save a pile of money doing the job yourself.

I would call Tom Trembley at Suncook Valley Appliance repair. I have used him for all sorts of repairs in the Wolfeboro area and generally would say that if he cannot fix it, it cannot be fixed! 724-0545 or svarepair@svarepair.com Prompt and professional service. |
