There's a recent thread about this place already - it's the bestdangq you'll get... It was formerly called Panama Bill's but it's now called... Boomer's Place.

The Yankee Smokehouse does have excellent BBQ (we love it), but if you want to stay in Gilford beleive it or not Patricks Pub serves and awsome pulled pork sandwich.

Default Pulled Pork

You know, I saw Pulled Pork sandwiches ALL OVER the place during Bike Week! Someone should have a contest!

Or - should WE vote, the resident experts?? lol

Where is that?

Bucky's (Rte 109 Moultonboro) has great BBQ ribs, chicken, etc.

Last time we went to The Yankee Smokehouse, we were disappointed - lots of food, mediocre quality - about 4 years ago have not been back.

Default Yankee smokehouse

Tried it the first time this year when my buddies and I were up opening the cottage. Can't say I am a big fan. We ordered the feast. There was a lot of food, the service was fantastic, the beer was really cold, and everything was cooked right, and the price was reasonable.. It is really just a personal preference, I didn't care for the BBQ sauce that they used. I like the thick, dark, stick to it sauce, but this wasn't that. Just not my favorite.

Thumbs up Panama Bill's/Boomers Place by the Bay

The earlier thread for Panama Bill's new place is below:

Yes, you could drive all the way to Yankee Smokehouse, as others have suggested, OR you could stay right here in Gilford, and still get BBQ that is just as good (better, I think) and a lot faster - at Panama Bill's/Boomers!!

If your looking for the absolute best ribs around, you have to try the Broken Atler in Meredith. Its right on the corner across from Sunshine & Pa's resturant which is just about next door to Mame's.
I agree about the Yankee Smoke houses's sauce, it's more reddish/orange and does not really have that BBQ taste that I want with ribs. My wife and I went there for the last time , last summer, and both of us agree it was the last time.
Still looking forward to trying Panama Bill's.
