NH requires that a minimum 1 year warranty be placed on all material and labor for work performed by a contractor.

That is not the important factor. What you need is a contractor that will guarantee that they will install the roofing material exactly the way the manufacturer requires. That will and is the only way to take advantage of the manufacturers warranty for repair that can extend up to 50+years depending on the product.

Good luck with your project.

If you would like an honest local guy then try either one of these two. They are both friends of mine and skilled carpenters known for quality and reliability. Sometimes these traits get lost with the larger outfits. I think it's great to keep the locals guys going too. Here is their information:

Heath Caruso
Caruso Construction (Laconia)
(603) 393-6581

Ryan Smith
R J Smith Construction and Land Management (Gilmanton)
(603) 998-4699

I am in complete agreement on this. Roofing mfg will do all they can to show sloppy installation as the culprit and back out of the warranty. I would find a mfg certified roofer to do the install. Page Roofing in Gilford is certified by the roofing mfg to do correct installation. They are a great outfit to deal with.
