Village Perk
The Village Perk on Main Street in Meredith is a great place to go for a take out/eat in breakfast, mid-morning break, lunch, or just a place to pop in and have a coffee or tea. I've been there 4 times and would go in every day if I lived in Meredith! The lunch menu is great - you can order any kind of sandwich ingredients you want and the sandwich basket comes with Sun chips and a pickle. It reminds me somewhat of Central Perk on "Friends". It has tables and chairs as well as a comfy sofa and chairs - there's a great fireplace and what I assume is a gas fire was "on" today. It has a back room with kids' toys and the main room has games in the corner and books. The bathrooms are the cleanest I've ever seen. There are several free newspapers available for reading. Nice atmosphere! I've seen a few people in there working on laptops and today, there were two little girls enjoying the comfy chairs and books while their moms relaxed at a table. There's parking oout on the street or in back at the back part of Mills Falls.

Village perk
I agree, this is a great little place. In the summer, I was impressed by the fact that they the ice cubes in the ice coffee were made of frozen coffee! I love the gallery upstairs as well.

It is a very pleasant place to spend some time. The coffee is first rate.

Doors open again? I didn't know they had closed, I went there a few times over the winter.
Does anyone know why they were closed (renovations?) |

They had suspended operations last winter
They had closed just due to slow business from what I had heard. It was always a great spot for wifi and a latte, so I was so sad when they closed. I drive by it every day! I think it had closed early last winter if I remember correctly. All the cozy decor was still there, they just weren't open.
A friend sent this to me yesterday: Java joy – The Village Perk reopens its doors |

Here we go again...
The Village Perk closed again! I'm not sure how long it's been 'down', but it has looked dark for weeks now. Now, there's a sign in the windows that a "Kara's" is coming soon!
Does anyone know anything about the transition, and what will be coming into that place? |
