I've been in the Lakes Region all my life, and although I ride motorcycles myself it gets annoying when bikers will block traffic in an intersection. Sure, the pack stays together but everyone else has to sit through an additional light cycle which makes the already horrible Bike Week traffic even worse.

My personal favorites are the Motorcycle Gang...I mean "Club" members who think that traffic laws do not apply to them. I'm talking passing cars in the breakdown lane, using sidewalks to get around stopped traffic, ignoring pedestrians in crossings, etc.

...I've come to the conclusion that people, in general, are getting more rude, feeling entitled, and just plain angry for no particular reason...

Default Be Careful driving today

I agree with NHBUOY in that people are ruder, as a matter of fact, one could say that there is a loss of "couth" within our society. No one wants to wait for the other guy, everyone wants to get it NOW, be first, and forget the other guy. Not a terribly friendly situation.

Push button society...entitled to what they want when they want it. Get it quick or get mad....just another sign of the breakdown of morals and respect for others in our society.

I remember when everyone drove under the speed limit. Gas was rationed and you were lucky to have a ration card to get it. Now its plentiful, so burn it up and drive like mad.

The older we get the more we drive the speed limit and let every idiot pass.

Why rush, you won't save very much time in a two lane road.

...observing peoples' behavior at a busy restaurant, holding an all-you-can-eat buffet/salad bar is VERY telling......

Wow...

Now there's a quantum leap... we start a thread talking about being careful, looking out for motorcycles, and it concludes with people don't teach their kids manners anymore... I dunno about that.... come hang with the Arglets - they're 6 and 9 years old - they'll charm your socks off. (They're not perfect but they're good kids...)

So, it's Bike Week - two days left of it.

Father's Day is tomorrow (Sunday).

ENJOY! And be safe!

Default Talk about idiots!

They don't have to be riding a bike to fall into that classification... I witness an act of road rage right out front of my house this afternoon.

Picture this; I live on a little used street with a triangle shaped park on it. Where the two streets join together at the end of the park is where my house is. A person in a Beamer convertible is PO because someone didn't signal his intent and lays on the horn, shouting obscenities and making hand jesters... Well, that did it, the second driver in the old (high powered) pickup makes U turn and the chase is on. You can imagine how this turned out...

Later on, the channel 9 news has a story about someone brandishing a hand gun for just such an incident on 93.

Idiots...

Idiots...
Saw a similar thing a few weeks ago. Road rage took over and both guys got out of their cars in front of the house one from a Chevy van and the other in a Mustang yelling obscenities at each other.

Well one of the guys got so heated that he ripped the radio aerial of the van and stabbed the other guy with it! Cops showed up and took the guy that got stabbed to the hospital and I assume the other guy to the pokey.

Cops came around that night. Said the guy that got stabbed with the aerial off the van died and wanted to know if I witnessed the altercation.

I asked how did the guy die? Wound didn't seem that bad being high in the shoulder and all.

Cops said the man had a blood reaction to oil/grease that was on the aerial torn from the van.

Doctors said he died of "van aerial disease".

Just kidding....never happened.
