Wow, that's the first time I've seen a boat bury it's bow and have the stern go straight up like that.
Amazing. I have all the wind I need on this lake. I like going fast, but I also enjoy the cruising aspect where I can sail and eat / drink while underway. So I'm not a big racer... I might look into one race for the fun of it this year, but it would be for the fun of it. I've been sailing for years but now that I have my own boat I'm in charge of, I see myself pulling a ton of rookie mistakes. Re-learning has been good for me, and thankfully this lake offers me lots of opportunities to iron out those kinks. Example: The main sail was great, but next time I'll reef it, and toss up the storm jib and see how that makes the boat go. |

Thanks for sharing the video. Makes me want to find a way to bring my 1983 Catalina 25 with me when I move up. Sadly selling it. (Too much $$ to have it hauled up from NJ, too much $$ to store in winter and summer at marinas)
http://www.catepoole.com/Mysterious_For_Sale/Home.html I'll be looking to crew or provide a helping hand for other sailors. |
