Although on many an occasion, I don't agree with your posts, I thoroughly enjoyed your original post and subsequent pictures. I am an "over 50" guy. I've been through it all with all of the Boston sports teams from the 70's through today. Too many years of disappointment over those 40+ years and in this case, 39 years, have me labeled in my circle of friends as the cynical non-Boston sports fan. That is not the case. I used to watch them all. With the exception of the NFL and the Patriots, the other three are a "take it or leave it" proposition for me. Do I watch an occasional Red Sox game? Sure do. Celtics? Maybe. Bruins? Hardly ever. I used to watch them all...a lot. When the Bruins made the playoffs it didn't even make a blip on my radar screen. I didn't jump on the bandwagon even though some of those "pinkhats" (including my wife) were there. I subscribe to your line of thinking that you can't just jump in the pool because the water is nice. I got a tremendous amount of grief from my friends for not watching all (or any) of the playoff games. Don't get me wrong. I think it is great that the Bruins finally won the cup again. It is a huge accomplishment for any major sports team. It is great for Boston and New England in general. Hats off to all of you true Bruins fans. You deserve this celebration and the after glow this week is providing. BT
