I am considering replacing a damaged fluke anchor with a new plow anchor. I have read some reviews on the West Marine site & many like them but some said they had trouble setting in a soft bottom.
I would like to hear from anyone that has a plow style anchor & how it worked on Winni. I am not sure what the reviewers meant by soft but I would think sand is soft & sometimes that is what I anchor in. Many times its mud & I am sure sometimes rock. It appears many of the new boats I see on Winni are equipped with a plow anchor. |

The delta plow i used to have I ended up getting rid of. I bought a bruce anchor. The bruce holds 10 times better than anything else I have tried. it sets real hard and comes out easy. I have tried it in all different types of bottom and it works great. Keep in mind the plow was attached to my anchor rode which is all chain, 200' of it. The bruce however is quite strong and I would never go back to the plow.
