Default Dinner and fireworks for the fourth?

We will be arriving tomorrow afternoon and I am realizing many places will likely be closed or closing early for the fourth. Are there any restaurants that will be open after 6 or 7 around Weirs Beach area?

We are also considering the Mt Washington fireworks cruise to view fireworks with dinner included. Anyone ever been on the fireworks cruise? Is it any good and is the food good? Do people typically dress up or down for the evening cruises?

It's tempting because this will be our first 4th at the lake so we don't know the good places to see fireworks or where we will be able to find dinner but we didn't bring any dress clothes and would prefer to find something cheaper!

Lobster Pound will be open and I am sure there will be many other places open when you arrive. I would call ahead. There are more people up here this weekend than I have seen in my seven years here. Traffic is congested, and that is good for the local businesses. Finally!!!

As far as the Mt. Washington Fireworks Cruise, that is a good take as long as the weather clears which looks like the plan. It's raining right now at the Weirs. In addition to the fireworks in Meredith, if you stand on the outside deck, there are numerous "private fireworks shows" as you cruise past the lake homes, plus the "spot-light flashes and whistle blows" are great between the ship and the lake houses.

The food is so-so. You can board the Mount around 6 PM and eat shortly thereafter. There is excellent entertainment on board. My wife and I have our tickets and will enjoy the evening. It has become an almost annual tradition.

I think you will really like this.

Thanks for the info! We didn't make it up in time to go on the fireworks cruise so we drove around the lake a bit and saw some fireworks on our own. Hopefully next year we will make it in time for the cruise
