Really, FLL....hardly blame it on republicans.
Cutting back on services is the oldest trick in the book.

When any government agency is told they have to cut back to stay within their budget, instead of getting rid of overstaffed office staff or bloated bennies, they always cut a vital service that will inconvenience the public. Reason is they want to draw sympathy to their cause and figure the public will demand that they restore funds.
Imagine the outrage when poor grandma gets stuck in a snowstorm because they had to cut back on plowing while no one in administration is asked to give up as much as a single sick/vacation/holiday.
