I finally made it to the barn Saturday night. It was packed, but I was able to get a seat at the bar. The barkeeps were friendly. The barmaid had an interesting background has her grandfather was a director for Stowe Mountain in VT. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I was able to strike up an interesting conversation with a couple from Meredith that recently moved from Cape Cod.
I had a great time and visit again the next night. The staff was extremely busy that night and I had to wait for service. The kitchen was running out of food too. I'm sure this will be a learning experience for the new staff and they will be prepared next year. I met a couple that read the Winnipesaukee Forum frequently but are not members. They find it very informative. A great place to meet people!

We stopped for dinner Thursday night. Very friendly staff, portions are large and the atmosphere very nice. Food was so - so. Think next time will try the sandwiches or pizza - was not impressed with the meal.
Willing to give it another try as it takes time to get up to speed. |
