It seems to be that the plastic props break for some reason. I suspect aluminum may have a problem with "corrosion"... being in close proximity to the electric motor. So I guess maybe this is why plastic seems to be more common.
How about the plastic prop off that electric trolling motor that you're not going to use during the winter.. Maybe they are plastic for the same reason as mentioned above. ![]() |

anyways, im pretty sure the only reason it broke is because the bouy hit it in the shed

hey guys, got the fan at watermark in gilford. great store and great help. installed it and had to break the 2 inches of ice to get it in the water. all is well now.
and by the way the guy said that he doesnt recommend the aluminum prop because if something gets caught it will burn your motor out instead of just break your prop. he also said its better to leave the motor in all summer because once the seal in there gets wet its better for it to stay wet because if it goes, the inside of the motor gets wet and gets ruined. and also, it was 23 bucks. thanks for the help all |

Do most folks take these out of water for Summer or leave in all year round?
