While Channel 9 consider themselves the de facto NH channel, most of us in the North Country that grew up watching WMTW consider channel 8 the de facto channel of the North Country.
There was a big stink when Channel 9 request Channel 8 to discontinue braodcasting off Mt Washington in northern NH. Channel 9 has lousy reception in that area. Somehow the powers to be provide WMTW in Satelite and northern cable service. I never did care for Channel 7 broadcast. I love NBC channel 6 out of Maine. However Metrocast decided to pull channel 6 as of Jan 31 because 7 is an NBC affiliate. I beg to differ as the quality of saturday morning kid shows on Channel 6 is the best other than QUBO. QUBO was discontinued Jan 1. This will be a sad year for quality children broadcasting. I'm hoping the advertisers and sponsors will see a huge drop in sales. Then the TV stations will follow the money.
