Default Bike Week crowd all over the Winni towns?

Is the bike week crowd all over the various Winni towns or are the activities concentrated in certain areas? How is Merdith or Wolfeboro during these weekends?

There's not that much bike activity in Wolfeboro and while there's some in Meredith (Harley dealer & Hart's restaurant) it's not that bad elsewhere. What is bad is trying to get around Laconia/Weirs Beach during the weekends. Going from Meredith south towards Gilford means some detours and/or traffic delays. Going north from Meredith is no problem as is going out to Rt93 via Rt104. The Alton to Wolfeboro to Center Harbor "side" of the lake is fairly unaffected, just some more bikes on the road to be aware of. For the most part the bike crowd stays in Laconia and the Weirs areas where the organized activities are centered.

Spend an hour in the middle of The Broads during Bike Week, as most sailors invariably do waiting for a breeze -- any breeze.

You can hear the bikes "circulating" around the lake in bunches. (And you can estimate the number of bikes in each of the bunches as they take off from their stops).

I never thought to determine the general direction of the circulation, but I'm thinking it's clockwise around the lake. You'd think it would be the other way -- counter-clockwise -- like when you enter a supermarket, boat-show or home-show, and turn right.

Default bike week again

Install a few shower stalls in your town to keep the bikers away

Default Noise?

There seems to be more engine sound. Nothing like a Harley with open pipes! Its noise to some music to others.

Just watch for bikers they will pass on either side.

I actually spent many hours this weekend sitting in the Broads and it was very peacefull.Just a handfull of boats came within a few hundred feet of me all weekend and never heard any motorcycles while there.APC would have been waiting for a breeze for a long time cuz both days while hanging in the middle of the lake it was dead calm.Too calm!!It was darn hot!! I was told by a friend that there was plenty of parking at the Wolfboro town docks on Saturday, I was there Sunday & the same thing, maybe 6 boats. Drove by the Meredith town docks on Saturday & again very few boats with plenty of space to park. Center Harbor town docks Saturday, 2 boats when driving by. I wonder if bike week kept boaters away or if gas prices did. Could also be graduations. Whatever the reason this weekend was very quiet at the town docks.

See the thread about the storms. That could have something to do with it.

I was surprised how empty the lake was as well. Glendale was a ghost town. Getting through the Weirs channel yesterday was faster than a usual summer weekend, figuring how many peope were in attendance I was shocked. The weather was not spectacular but still...I'm not complaining, I loved it!

I never boat on weekends so there's no comparison; in fact, cranking up the A/C this past weekend was a rare event, as I'm rarely indoors. The humidity was oppressive, though over what we've been having, I'd take it now.

According to my new Bizer's chart, the very few Bike Week motorcycles I'm hearing are two miles distant from my porch -- and are circulating clockwise around the lake.

It sort of makes sense to circulate clockwise, because viewing the waters is easier. I'd be uncomfortable having cars whizzing by my view of the lake -- considering the closing speed of opposing traffic.
