We get a decent herring run on the Seacoast - salmon falls river, lamprey, winnicutt, cocheco, exeter river - all of them swell up nicely in late may and june. They're great striper bait when livelined. You nab them with a sabiki or shad flutter.

We get Shad too, fun on a light rod.
