We saw an article in one of the local papers last year about the Madison Boulder. We were fascinated and visited last autumn. Definitely worth it. Although the road is relatively well marked, if you have young children, expect a lot of " are we there yet?" It isn't right around the corner.

I would say around an hour. It is worth the trip though. It is just a big rock, but kids are fascinated by it.
