Stopped here last summer for the first time, food was "ok"
Figured I would try it again a couple weeks ago and see it hasn't improved.
Two of us ordered the small size scallop plate. The scallops appeared to be larger ones cut down into bite size nuggets. They were absolutely tasteless! And looked like they were cooked in last seasons grease.they were also very rubbery and just as last year the soda tasted like.. Well, I don't know! Not soda, plenty of fizzz but no taste to it.
Sad to say but, I had seafood at Red Lobster in Colorado that tasted better!
This is now on my "stay away" list just like the Weathervane in the Weirs..

Why would any restaurant cut large scallops into bite-size nuggets?

That's what I do when I want them to cook at the same time.

Wow! I'm sympathetic that you did not receive the 5-star meal you were looking for. May I recommend McDonalds for your next meal?

@JP...I see your point as a home cook; I just thought it would not be cost effective for a restaurant, as the smaller scallops would be less expensive and it would take someone's time to cut up the larger. Admittedly, restaurant management not my area of expertise.

There is no better place around Winnipesaukee for fried clams than the Red Hill Dari and their other fare is top shelf too.

I'm not familiar with buying bulk. I just know they all need to be close in size to be cooked uniformly.

Are you sure you didn't get bay scallops That's scallops not scal-ops. New England sound not NY.

I completely agree with the lack of quality here. Service is always good, but the food is always below average. I was hoping to try it again this summer, though it sounds as if I am not missing much. My last trip to Red Hill was last August, and it was awful. I make the drive to Gilford and have never been disappointed.
