A PWC IS a boat and the PFD(s) need to be readily accessible. NH defines that as within arms reach and not in a closed container. Add to the mix the fact that this type of vessel is more apt to get you thrown into the water with a chance of going unconscious and your have all the reasons you need to wear a proper PFD and have it buckled or zipped up. What were these people thinking? My guess is they did not have Safe Boating Certification either. Anybody want to put out odds on that? |

I get a kick out the newspaper calling a "SeaDoo" a "jet ski". They are both “Ski Craft” (PWC) trademarked brand names. I guess it's just easier to call all PWC's a "Jet Ski". |

Jetski is the most common term used to describe a PWC ever since they first came out.

If I tell a non-boater that I am going on my PWC, they have no idea what I am talking about. If I say jet ski, then no problem. Say, could you make me a Xerox of this? Ooops I mean a copy.

Weren't the first "jetskis" made by Bombadier and called Seadoos? Gawd, I remember having to lean forward so much in order to get it on plane. |

I *think* the Wetbikes might have come before the jet-ski, or least be from the same era (mid 70's).
