Hello, I'm looking for a Lakes Region Steak House for a nice prime rib dinner to go to the first of May this year. I know of the following ones but would like some input from others please.
They are: C.J. Averys, The Woodshed, Spatts [Manchester, MY FAV!!] At this early time of the year, not sure of what others might be open. Thank you for your help.. |

Since you mentioned Manchester, I'll suggest a great restaurant in Derry. It's about a year old (I think) It's right in downtown Derry (Route 102)(Broadway). Almost across from the old Aubuchon Hardware store. It's called the Depot Steakhouse. It's outstanding!

Christmas Island is very good as far as the prime rib goes...... ask for it grilled, it's awesome! They also occasionally have prime rib buffet nights.

The Wolfeboro Inn does a great steak. Good atmosphere. The Cider Press is a good but haven't had a steak there in a long while. Then theres my grill on the deck, but I tend to undercook and the company is lousy.

I'll second this. Stay away from Garwoods; great lunches, bad dinners in my experience. YMMV |

If Manchester isn't too far, then Merrimack shouldn't be. Silo's Steakhouse is the best I've ever had anywhere at any price.

Not sure when the restaurant opens, but Sandy Pointe in Alton Bay is the best prime rib!! There lobsters are incredible! Never a bad meal.
Enjoy! |

Silo's in Merrimack has really gone downhill in the past six months. It's not worth the trip and I live in Merrimack !!!

What about Foxy Jonnies in New Durham just south of Alton.

How do you think it has gone downhill? I went there last week and it was as good as ever. There is some construction and remodeling going on, so maybe that was part of the problem you had?

foxy johnny has been closed everytime we go by, even on the weekends. I think it's called out of business.

For Prime Rib, you can't beat C. J. Avery's. They have great food and the waitstaff has been there forever.
