I think he is 100% correct, no disrespect to Cate but there are definitely double standards on this forum.
It seems as though someone who isn't as popular will be torn apart for not following the rules while more popular posters are allowed to slide.
Point in hand, Chef Brown was allowed to advertise his business recently while just this past year more then one business was beaten down and dragged through the mud for doing the exact same thing.
If my memory is correct it was a local marina.
I believe what Merrymeeting is getting at is why can one poster put up something that another poster will be criticized for?
Chef Brown not disrespect to you either I see no problem with you posting about your business, but if one can do it then everyone should be allowed to do the same.

It is boating related, it was related to a storm that hit us as well, there are numerous sailors on the site. No harm posting it, who cares?

Default "Miracles" are where you find them...

Precedents can be seen at http://winnipesaukee.com/forums—

Eagles in Iowa:

Fountain Speedboat—Kent Island, Maryland:

Red Sea Boat "Launch"—Dubai, U.A.E.

A Catalina sailboat appeared in our classified pages...

I'd want to know if that Catalina came from New Jersey!

"Lighten up, Frances!"

This is the boating section of the forum and it's a normally slow time of year. Something as interesting as this, is to good to not share with friends.

I guess I'm not the only one who gets grumpy once the boat is put away.

I for one, think minor off-topic threads are fun. The webmaster has his own tolerance for this, and when enough is enough, look at the Romney thread for an example.
