Gas station/deli to replace Sawyer's in 2006

Can anybody confirm the veracity of the rumor stating that Sawyer's in Gilford has been sold and will be torn down and replaced with a gas station/deli in 2006?

Please, please say it is just a rumor. I heard this myself only yesterday. Sawyer's has been a family treat for years.

Gilford needs to do something to improve the entrance to the area. The mess at the old Plaza, (did anyone realize just how far back they would destroy the wooded area?) the messy boatyards, etc., do nothing to enhance our beautiful Lakes Region

When an offer too good to refuse is made, one can understand the position of the Sawyers. Best of luck to them.
