Boaters found safe ashore on camp island just now. Alton Fire, Laconia Fire and NHMP all available now and Gilford FD going ashore to check boaters... I love a happy ending. Stay safe people

Bravo! That is an incredible rescue response! My hats off to them.
It seems unclear at the moment whether the two boaters had returned and never checked in, causing panic, or were they escorted back by rescue personnel? Either way, home safe is home safe. |

It was reported that the mother called in that they came back. They were not escorted back. Right before they did call in to 911, I did notice a boat going arcoss from the Long Island area toward Camp Island. Wierd thing was that the Fire boat was looking around timber island for them. Would have thought they would have been toward the Broads, I know radar on the Marine Patrol showed nothing initially but......
