I was there last night and on the field after the game. Absolutely incredible experience!

Picture of me standing on the pitcher's mound right after the win.

I didn't go to the game but I did belly up to a bar in Boston last night with a co-worker in the hopes of being part of the celebration if they won and of course they did. Great time and a great vibe all night!
Everything was controlled. Many of the bars closed their doors about mid way through the game. Those that were already in the bar could stay but no more were allowed in. Caught this picture of the Pru from the Mass Pike on my way in after watching Obama's motorcade go by me.

Great picture, great memory. How did you manage to get on the field (what passes around your neck allowed it)? Very cool

Default On TV

I stayed home and enjoy the game in my pj on my lounger.

I expected a lot of drama and was disappointed that it was just another game. I guess letting Big Papi walk made the game a bit boring.

Default ....where's the money?

Anyone know how much extra payday money all the Red Sox players get individually for winning the World Series? How does that all get spliced and diced with their extra pay for extra play?

My company does event engineering for events and the media. For the Red Sox we do sound and lighting for interviews, power and audio feeds for production trucks and satellite vehicles, big screen TVs etc.

Saturday we will be doing the Duck Boat parade through Boston.

Default 2013 World Series Player Pool Shares

The 2012 players' pool was $63,363,469.22. Last year's World Series winner, the SF Giants, awarded 50 full shares of $377,002.64.
The Red Sox will split 36% of this years pool which should bring about 400K for each player.

Very impressive BI, and very jealous. I went to Game 1 and it was phenomenal. Game 6 I spent at a bar in Seaport and it was a great vibe...

How's your hearing BI? I remember seeing that you had some problems after the marathon bombing where you were standing right near the finish line.

OK, now I'm jealous. I'm a season ticket holder and was at all the playoff games but being able to get on the field would be awesome.

Thank you for asking. I had a concussion and perforated ear from the first bomb. Nerve damage took most of the hearing in one ear but I am learning to cope. My wife has had to stop talking to me from another room (so it's not all bad).

I can relate to that!!! My left ear is not very good from my years in the military. Guns and jet engines do not go well with your ears.

I can tell Mrs ToW that "gee honey, when you told me that you were on by bad side and I must not have heard it in my bad ear."

(I figured that a link to USA Today was relatively neutral. Found the link via google.)

In case you haven't seen this, a video of the celebration from the Boston Marathon finish line. Amazing to be able to celebrate at the very spot that ripped our hearts out on April 15. Thank you Red Sox!

Oh, and the Duck Boats were all wearing 'beards' for the day.

Default Freedom of speech

In response to this post on the Red Sox parade thread: "He was speaking at Faneuil Hall. It's pretty cool that that place has been a forum for public dissertation for well over 200 years. (Please, please don't turn this conversation into a political debate.) "

Things are not always as they appear. A visit by the president on the same day as the parade leaves him and others open to another crazy attack..not to mention the motorcade just makes access to downtown that much more challenging. So my comment: what is Obama doing in town and hope they don't let him near Fenway was a safety concern. (Please don't forget what happened at the marthon.)

Second and most important, there is nothing more political than monitoring my right to speak, so I will get fired up (and start thread just to be heard) when anyone tells me what to say and where.

By the way, my user name : dogma is not the word "dogma" but meant as dog ma dog mom.. not very creative, sorry but thought I would remove any judgement on the name while I am at it.

Lol...edited/deleted my response because this thread shouldn't be turned into someone's political platform, even under the guise of "safety."

Also...freedom of speech within this forum is totally contingent upon the webmaster's discretion.

Now off to enjoy a cocktail while I watch the sun set over the happiest place on earth. It's a gift to be able to be in Boston at the parade in the morning, and then spend the rest of the weekend lakeside.

Gotta love this particular group of Red Sox. Teamwork!

The parade was great. The stop to place the Trophy on the Finish Line was very emotional.

For months now we have been working to make the 2014 Boston Marathon an incredible event.
