C J Avery's Pub
I looked and looked through the old threads and was surprised not to see C J Avery's - down near Lakeport- not getting a mention.
Albeit, not "high end" on par with Canoe, Woodshed, or 51 Mill, my wife and I find this place to be one of our regular (more enjoyable) spots. The people are always curtious & friendly and the food is excellant -- Good size portions, fair price, and a wide assortment. The Prime Rib & Onion soup is spectacular -- watch the Cheesy Fries, you won't have enough room for your meal |

Phantom,
I've eaten at Avery's several times and always enjoy the meal. Like you said, it's not "high end", but it's a quick alternative when Patrick's has a long wait. However, we ate there last Thursday and it was lousy. It was not crowded, but we waited forever for service. We had to send the soup back because it was cold, the chicken on the Caesar salad was way overcooked, and the ribs I got were drowning in BBQ sauce. Everyone has an off night, but this was noticably bad . We'll try again, but I hope it's better. |
