I took the course 15+ years ago at Glendale before it was required but they won't let me use it for my NH license. It's crazy since the course at Glendale was much more informative. I sold my camp on Squam and my boat 10 years ago and have not taken the test. So now I have to take the new test.
I guess it's not a big deal as the new course is extremely easy and I juts have to run to Concord to take the test. The bad part is thinking how many people on the water have no experience other than the NH test. |

Check the WEB site. There is a proctored test coming up April 25th in Moultonborough. I'm pretty sure that will be before ice-out this year. |

If you have your boating license and have insured boats let your insurance company know about it. We recently switched to different offices with the same insurance company. The new office told us that all these years we should have been receiving a discount on our boat insurance. The other day a check for $150.00 came to us in the mail.

The LRSPS offers a very good, comprehensive class as well that is fully recognized in NH. My son took it and said he got a lot out of it.
The schedule is as follows: May 10 NH Boat Museum Wolfeboro May 24 Moultonborough Library June 28 Moultonborough Library Reservations at (603) 490-9573, Ron LaVoie lrsps.org |

Whoever told you that the course that you took 15 years ago is no longer valid was just wrong. If the course that you took at Glendale was NASBLA approved (my guess is that it was a minimun of eight weeks long) so had to be and is good for life. The only way to lose it is by getting BUI and if so, tough luck. The US Power Squadron does a great job in their boating classes and I recomend them. The US Coast Guard Auxiliary is also teaching the classes on the Lake and we are trying to put a fun twist to it. We will deliver the classes to your yacht club, marina or what ever. I personally like to teach an "ladies only" class. Too many ladies are not real sure of what to do with the boat when hubby has the big one or if they need to get off of an island to the mainland. It is a real fun class and a great way to get together with your pals. You will be amazed at how much you can learn in a short time. If there are any takers out there call me 603 455 7178 and we will make a plan. And remember, it's all about boats so it's FUN! MistyBlue |
