It appeared that the "damage" to the lighthouse was mostly in the wood. The stone structure appeared to be solid. If that is the case, then it shouldn't be difficult to repair. There are a lot of restrictions to lakefront construction, so I don't believe that if someone bought the property it would be possible to just tear something down and rebuild. Also the land is not large enough to build a large home on, so the value is in the location (the point) and of course the lighthouse. So, I think that it will be safe.

While waiting for a couple of pizzas at Anthonys this weekend I picked up a real estate guide. I noticed that the price for the Spindle point property was dropped. If I remember correctly it's now about $1,375,000.
