A good option for an assisted living facility is Golden View in Meredith.

Default Golden View

My grandfather spent his last few years at Golden View. At that point his Dementia/Alzheimer's had progressed far enough to require him to be on a secure floor.
We found the staff to be very helpful, all family lived 3000 miles away and just couldn't give him the care he required at any home, his or ours and he never wanted to leave the lake.
We usually made unscheduled visits and I never found any difference in his care from scheduled to unscheduled visits.
The assisted living area on the first floor was nice and the tenants I spoke with seemed to enjoy living there but admitted it was a bit of an adjustment first.

I have also heard great things about Sugar Hill. Good Luck!
