I believe the bluest sky I've ever seen was on the day after my cataract surgery.

I agree. Cataracts develop so slowly, you don't realize how discolored things are.

I had cataract surgery in both my eyes about 6 or 7 years ago. After the first eye was done and the cloudiness from the drops had cleared, I looked in the bathroom mirror and was shocked to see some old guy with gray hair and a white moustache looking back at me! I had thought my hair and moustache were BROWN, which it turned out was due to the effect of the cataract!

(When my second eye was done, I looked even older!)

After the surgery I was seeing colors correctly again for the first time in years. Whites were actually "white", not yellow-brown. The results of the surgery are truly remarkable.
