The system tells me I have to wait 300 seconds between posts. Am I doing something wrong????

Just happened to me too. Must be a reason, but it is a pain in the neck.

Sounds like the Flood Control setting of the forum is set to 5 minutes (300 seconds). That sounds kind of long, usually it's like 30 seconds. Maybe Don will lower it.

That timer is for flood control. It is intended to discourage posting excessive numbers of messages or using the forum like a chat room. Last month a new member flooded the forum with 75 useless one-line messages in less than 2 hours (the messages and the member were removed). The flooding controls help slow that down.

To help a little I have set the timer back to 3 minutes. It's hard to imagine a situation when you would need to post 2 messages in less than 3 minutes so that seems like a reasonable number.
