Default HDTV Antennaa?

Does anyone have any experience with HDTV Antenna in the area, particularly in the meredith area? How is the reception, how many channels? Which channels? What antenna do you use (brand and model)? How many miles is your antenna rated for? I'm thinking about trying one, looking for advice, thanks!

Check out this product:

And I believe they have a search mode on their site that allows you to just enter your location and they will tell you what channels you should be able to get.

Thanks Airedale1, that is neat!

Once you put in your zip code it takes you to a map showing your location and then you can put the push pin exactly on your location. Then it will tell you how many channels you get. I get a few weak channels.

I installed a new antenna from Lowes back when all the stations went to digital. Reception on South Bear was terrible. I even tried two different digital converters. I think I only received 9 and 11. I fully expected terrible reception remembering back to the huge bedspring antenna my dad put on the roof to watch the Bruins back in the Bobby Orr days. Reception was so fuzzy you sometimes couldn't see the puck. And we were going to get uhf in Meredith when they went to digital? I signed on with Directv.

I made the antenna in this link with materials I had around the house. The only thing I had to buy were some small fender washers.

I'm in Center Harbor. I put it in an upstairs window facing SE and get 14 digital channels from Portland. Other directions were not anywhere near as good.

If you build it, let us know how it works in your area.

I checked for channels in Meredith 03253 and the answer was 0.

Totally off topic, but that reminds me of some graffiti I saw back in college: someone wrote "Jesus Saves!" in big letters, and underneath someone else wrote "but Orr scores on the rebound!"

Some were sd and hd versions of the same channel and several were PBS, so I guess they're not 14 different channels.

BTW, HBO is planning to make HBO-GO available without a cable or satellite tv subscription. The rumors are by April/2015 to coincide with Game Of Thrones new season. How much it will cost hasn't been revealed.
