I would gladly pay more to get "new" replacement cost over current cost.

I guess it depends on the cost and replacement value vs. depreciation, etc. We have had cars totaled in the family that the insurance money for couldn't replace, I.e. the book value of the vehicle was much less than the vehicle was actually worth in terms of transportation.
