As part of my pending migration to the Granite State, I figure a granite mail box post is in order.
Any tips, info. and referrals are welcome! Thanks |

I think they look great but....Keep it out of the reach of the snowplow wings. We saw plenty laying flat this year.

I suppose the bigger, or in this case heavier, they are the harder they fall.
Locating it away from the road somewhat should help but I expect the postal service has some standards for location as well. And then there's dig safe... |

Google Yankee Mailbox. I believe they only serve Massachusetts but their site will give you some great ideas. The concept is you order your mailbox online and a couple of days latter you come home and your old mailbox is gone and a new granite mailbox is in place. Vert good quality and service. I'm uncertain if there is a similar outfit in NH. Good luck.

My next mailbox post will be granite and I am concerned about snowplows taking it out since 2 of my neighbors had their granite knocked over. Here is what I'm going with.Granite post set back 4 ft with this swinging box mount.
Here is the website to see how it works.http://www.mailswing.com/

Had to replace the post 3 times. All because of the plow wing. If you are here year round, then you would have to shovel out mailbox. If seasonal, then just take the mailbox down. |

Interesting topic been looking for one in Mass the wife gave me a discount coupon this weekend from the mail. 189.00 post and 150.00 to install is that in line with what they get? This one is a real tall one a probably very heavy may not bother installing myself.

Yeah the add did say it includes the mailbox bracket also. I don't know what a split or rock face is. With one I saw the "Bracket" was simply two screws sticking out of the post to attach to the back of the mailbox.

We used Dolbier in Moultonborough - great job, no muss, sunk it deep so there'd be no problems and it was done on time and their price was fair!
