Default Almost...

A couple of weeks ago my brother rented a cottage on the basin for the week along with a 18' bowrider from a Winni marina. I'd scouted the culvert in advance and warned him to lower the bimini before passing through (no issue getting my 20' boat through with the bimini lowered).

He made it through 3 times with the bimini up, probably clearing the culvert by fractions of an inch. The fourth time through, he lost the bimini and half the windshield frame. I haven't heard what the marina is charging him for the repair but I'd guess it is north of $1000.

This is the second time in a row he's returned a rental boat needing significant repair. The last time was due to an encounter with a rock that was closer to the surface than he'd thought it was. I think he had a $800 repair bill for that one.
