Lavinias
Had a great meal at Lavinias tonight! New York strip cooked perfectly, with creamed spinach and fingerlings. If you haven't tried this place yet, do yourself a favor and make sure to.

Yes!
In the past, Lavinias seemed to be too expensive for the quality, however something changed. Last time I went, I did not think the prices were out of line and the quality was above average. Someone is doing something right!

Recent great experience at Lavinia's
We had a happy experience yesterday at Lavinia's. Five people and three generations. There was something good on the menu for all and a good range of prices, too. We arrived at 5:00 pm, and there was plenty of docking, no wait at the restaurant. (We started early because of the 5 and 7 year olds.) By the time we finished, the house was full and so were the docks.
On the way back to the docks, we stopped to talk to a police officer who was parked nearby. Our grandson is a big fan of the police. We had a nice chat with Chief Mark Chase. Thank you, Chief. Thanks to all the folks in Center Harbor for a great evening. |

I am glad you had a good meal. Six of us went a couple of weeks ago and we were very disappointed. It is too bad because it is such a nice place. We all live locally year-round so we wish our experience had been better. We would then visit it on a regular basis. This had been our third time giving Lavinia's a try. It will be our last unless the chef changes, but I know the chef is also the owner.

We go to Lavinias regularly. They do a great job - diverse menu, excellent environment, and pretty consistent quality.

Went there last week and had a good experience. Everyone liked their food and the service was fast and friendly. The menu seems like sort of an odd mix of selections though with no real focus, some fine dining and a hamburger and a blt.
I've never been in the restaurant business, except as a customer and have no idea how to set up a menu. Maybe a different set of choices for the bar vs the dining room? |

I had a wonderful swordfish dinner there a couple of weeks ago. Fresh, moist and cooked perfectly!

Lavinia's has done us right over the past few years. We usually get more of the "bar food", burger, fish tacos, pulled pork etc.. With the occasional seafood risotto special. I have yet to have a bad meal there. Service sometimes is hit or miss but not terrible, seems slow sometimes.
