According to posts in the other Woodshed thread, the builders told Greene's Basin Girl that it would open in March. Great Northern Cleaning has also been helping to get the restaurant ready.

I have also heard Lynn is not involved. I'll do some digging!
Across, we live a mile or so from the Woodshed, and averaged weekly visits. There are certainly lots of parties that only go on special occasions, but there are also a fair amount of regular customers. They did a beautiful job with the building, hopefully they will do the same with the business! |

Nice article, and the restaurant looks nice. Anyone guess what we're looking at for food and prices? Canoe or O equivalent? Sure would be nice to have a solid restaurant in between Village Kitchen and The Bob House. With two kids, we've come to like The Mug as well.

This statement in the article pretty much sums up what will happen to the New Woodshed:
"Bradley and Haynes are in the real estate business in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, and they figured that this would be another building for their portfolio."

"The initial plan was to find someone to operate it and lease from them. However, as time went on, they realized that this would leave them no control. They held the former location in such high regard, so they decided to own it and hire a manager to run the establishment. Greg Branzetti was a manager at the Woodshed years ago. He has been involved with starting and running businesses for more than 15 years. He took the job as general manager for the New Woodshed in October, and he said he couldn’t be happier to get the restaurant open to continue the tradition that was started by original owners Lyn and Rex Seley. Lyn and her husband Bob Fee, who was a former chef, have been in contact with the new owners and, according to Bradley, they will be sharing some of their recipes for the menu." Now I don't know what Greg's Woodshed years were or how the restaurant was doing then but if him running it is the issue, you should post about that but don't grab one sentence and infer that the restaurant is doomed. |

Grab a sentance
The article also made reference to using the same stove Ruth's Chris uses.
If they can match or come close to the steaks and food you get at a Ruth's Chis then we have a great dining experience on its way. This also dosen't sound like someone who is trying to take business from the VK for one thing the wine cellar sounds larger then VK or Bob Houses . The average tab here wil probable be at the top of the scale for the area which is fine so long as the food , service and dining experience justify it. We have all the burger, pizza joints we need. I would expect they even take AMEX |

The old Woodshed would have done well money-wise but remember it went for $510K at auction, with fixtures and furnishings. I have not been inside yet, but they have to be in this for $3M or thereabouts. |

New Woodshed ...
If the new owners develop a thriving business in the new Woodshed, and then decide to sell it, SO WHAT, that is their choice. The only real method of expressing your (our) feelings for whatever they do is through the pocket book. If you like what is happening - eat there, if you don't like what is happening - don't eat there.
Please, let's not get into a long, meandering conversation about the Woodshed like we did with VK and credit cards. |

If they all do that, then they will use up their once a year "special occasion" budget and would not be able to go for that "special occasion" as soooo many people love to tell us about.

the industry has changed a great deal since Greg worked open with very high expectations however online reviews tore them up primarily because they couldn't get help.the old woodshed. labor on this side of the lake is in the worst state it's been ever. Last year we saw the Canoe close for lunch because they couldn't get help. We also saw Lavinia struggle because of help issues. It's all around the lake. Sandy Point throw in the towel because of help. the breakfast place by mosquito bridge had more customers than they could serve so they chose to close. we all had high hopes for the Holy Grail but it opened to terrible reviews because they couldn't get help. I wish them the best at the woodshed I just think we all need to wait and see before we set up expectations |

The takeaway here is the New Woodshed looks and sounds wonderful. Obviously, the owners didn't build this restaurant to make a quick buck but rather they built it as a labor of love. They sound like a wonderful family and I wish them much success which they undoubtedly will achieve. I will be a regular customer as I'm sure many other forum members will be. |

As with every other restaurant around, they will struggle getting help and training which is likely pushing the date. I expect we will see some familiar faces coming back. It looks like they hire a good GM and have a good plan.
It may be a good opportunity for those in the business that may be looking for a change... |
