Fellow boaters:
My new-to-me boat has a Raymarine 435i GPS with Navionics USA-East v1.18 card. There are a number of chart files but no NH lakes. Below is a list of chart files on the CF card. Is there anyone out there, with a similar card, who could tell me what the file name would be for Lake Winnipesaukee coverage? I've reached out to Navionics and am currently in their support queue. Thanks. ![]() |

I have Navionics chip in a Lowrance gps. All I had to do was to use the Lowrance menu to tell it to use the Navionics card vs the built in map and then switch to the Chart/Map display. I have several different map files too but the unit, with gps active, automatically used the right one.
I would guess your gps would work the same way, though i suppose if you are posting here maybe not? |

I have a Humminbird but use that same card. I agree that the GPS should know where you are and use the correct file by default.

Thanks guys.....I verified this morning that I simply do not have a chart file for this area, which is strange because I thought the USA-EAST card would provide adequate coverage.

The Raymarine I purchased came with a C-Map chip with US Inland Waterways (including Winnipesaukee). I don't know if purchasing that is an option on your model.

Thanks Salty, I'll search for more info on that chip. There are a number of prospects on Ebay that I'm considering as well.

I purchased a Navionic's 'Update +" chip two years ago. It allows you to load just about any area you would like for a year.
After reporting some issues I found, they even made some corrections, so they are very responsive. I also learned that the source of their data was Bizer, I'm not sure if this was a one-time license with Bizer, or if they continue to get ongoing updates from Bizer. Either way, i'm very happy with it on my older Raymarine chartplotter. It even shows the locations of most docks, which is more than one could ask for IMHO. Considering that my boat is sort of stuck on lake Winni (it's too big to trailer), I loaded the lake (of course) and some of the coastline east of us, just for fun.

Does the built in Raymarine Navionics+ Cartography work well on winni ?
I'm a die hard Garmin fan about to change .

I have an older Raymarine C80 built into my boat,
The updated Navionics chart works very well, it even shows almost all docks on the lake. If you get one, be sure to update it online, I think they give you one year of free updates To see what it looks like, you can use their online chart to see how it looks. My chart plotter looks about the same as you see online.

I have an older Lowrance ('05) that i have to go in and manually switch from Lake Winni. to other lakes I might be going to. I don't believe mine will automatically switch from one map to another. The other davit notified me when it had locked in a GPS signal but still had the incorrect map. I had to manually go in and change it. I would suggest trying each map and see which one gives you the lake detail you need.
