![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I had to laugh at the second video as I am the guy that was driving the boat that was going all over the place. While I do consider myself a "newbie" to boating as this is only my second season on the lake, I was not drunk. The reason I am all over the place in the video is that unlike most people on the lake, I have a jet boat. Jet boats have a real hard time tracking straight at headway speed and additionally the boats in front of me were going even slower than usual. What a lot of people do not know is that jet boats do not have a true neutral. There is always a little thrust in the forward direction. Also, when you put a jet boat in reverse while moving forward it tends to want to spin the boat. Hence what you saw when I was getting very close to the gas dock.. Please know that I am not trying to defend myself as I was very amused when I watched the video and as much reading the comments, but I did feel compelled to explain why you may see a boat not tracking straight at slow speeds. |
