48 Main St., Meredith
Found this place the other day when getting my haircut. The feature espresso, coffee, crapes both savory and sweet. They are open 7 days for breakfast and lunch. Didn't get to try it yet but hoping for form feedback.

Tried them a few weeks back
Hi all,
We tried then a few weeks back and they really did not have things dialed in (yet?). It was the first day that they were open, so it not surprising. I would seriously like to see them succeed, but clearly they have work to do on quality and value. Positives:
Negatives:
So, give them a try and share your thoughts. Jetskier |

We stopped in yesterday. The menu is quite extensive including savory and sweet crepes. Many coffee choices. The "American" coffee is roasted locally. We shared a fresh blueberry and honey crepe.
The place is clean and comfortable. My sense was the crepe prices were a bit high. All in all a nice addition and worth a visit.

Is this where there has been a coffee shop before?
In the yellow building at the top of the hill?

I believe it was Cara's or Kara's before as well as several others.

Yes, it used to be Kara's, then Hakuna. I really liked Hakuna, but their hours weren't ideal. It seemed they had a bar but were never open at night, so I found that less than ideal (from a business standpoint, anyway).
We have been to 48 Main a couple of times since they've opened. I agree they're a little overpriced for their portions and the way the food is presented. They do use fresh ingredients and the crepes are really good. They even have burrito crepes and chicken lemongrass crepes (my favorite is Thai Sunrise), so it's a good lunch choice too. Their iced coffee is decent, but coffee cubes would make them above average around here if they had them. I'm surprised there has been so much turnover at that little place recently. It's beautiful inside and the location is prime. Hoping they stay in business and increase their menu a little more. |

Karas was the best. Sorry they couldn't make it. Hakuna?? Really? Organic coffee?? At $4 a cup?? Come on... there's a reason why they are no longer in business.
