ramp at the Libby...

just got up from VA...lowest level I can remember in decades...i usually put in (bass boat=easy to mess with equipment ) at the libby as i'm in Winter Harbor...anyone know what that's like or used recently...??? thanks in advance

also wondering how my mooring whips will perform with all the extra line down to the boat with low level...???

I adjusted the length of my dock whip lines twice during the summer, so that the tensioners could do the final adjusting. Also adjusted the dock lines and the spring line in early August. For a "visual" on how much the lake has dropped, when we pulled the 60' dock last Saturday, at the end of the dock, which was chest deep when we put the dock in, was only knee deep when taking it out (I'm 6 ft tall). That was impressive to us while taking out the dock.

The water is certainly low and I didnt stop to look at the ramp last weekend but there were plenty of boats using it. Boats were also using the 19 mile bay ramp but that one is very shallow and your trailer tires will go of the end of the cement ramp.

I used the Libby ramp last Sunday to pull out my 22' ski boat. It was fine. Trailer wheels still on the ramp. It will be fine for a bass boat.

A friend had trouble pulling his airboat out from a Florida ramp infamously known for "power-loading". So he bought a pickup truck with massive Cummins-diesel torque.

The next time he got his airboat out OK, but left his tires (and axle!) back at the ramp!

My sil pulled his boat a week ago there and it was tricky but they were able to do it. Just be careful. As I said it is very low.
