Default Open Water

Here's what the lake looks like this morning from the Minge Cove area in West Alton. The only ice we can see from here is in the Wolfeboro Bay area and to the northwest of Parker Island. Boats are now coming in and out of Minge Cove.

Exclamation watch for debris!

Reports of lots of debris floating around....some sizeable pieces of wood. Exercise caution.

Default Rattlesnake Accessability

Does anyone know if the passage from Minge to the south side of Rattlesnake passable? If not I'm sure it will be by the weekend. Can't wait to get back on the lake!

We can see from Minge Cove over to the south side of the east end of Rattlesnake, and it's wide open at this time. Here's a photo:

Default Beautiful picture!

Thanks for sharing the view! I'll be up next weekend to open the cottage. I can't wait. I only wish we could order up another day like today.

Thanks for making it seem a little closer. I'm heading up to open up in a few weelks, but this weather (86 according to Weirscam) has me reconsidering that date!

It's amazing, but yesterday (Sunday) Winter Harbor was still pretty much covered in ice...

Flew over the lake this afternoon and very little ice left. Most of the remaining ice has been pushed, by the wind, to the eastern end of the lake. I would think if it hasn't already been declared, it will tomorrow. Time to get the boat ready!

Default Strange Day

When it's a nice balmy day, it's not unusual for a passing slow pontoon boat to gawk -- with many pairs of eyes -- as I tidy my waterfront.

Today, April 19th, it was a nice, balmy 80° afternoon, and I was watched from a large ice floe passing by, and the 11 pairs of eyes belonged to sea gulls. A very strange day.
