With the kind of money you are talking about spending I would definitely huddle with a good marine electronics shop and make sure they understand your planned use and boat set up. You might also want to look at a boating forum like the www.thehulltruth.com for insights into transducers (and equipment for that matter). There is a ton of good information over there and almost certainly people that have the equipment you are thinking about.
