The only thing required is a flotation vest on each person, a fire extinguisher, and a sounding device. Most use a whistle which is acceptable. Mine is attached to my vest.

Thanks, I have that covered but I think I will get a small first aid kit also.

To be honest -- it is better to "make" your own First Aid Kit as opposed to store bought versions....in that way you have it stocked with practical items you may need as opposed to aspirin & other frivolous stuff.

We bought a smallish Tupperware container (roughly 6"x12'x 3"deep) and stocked it with gauze, med tape, various oversized bandages (for serious cuts, i.e. foot cut on a jagged rock), sterilizer and a couple of "clean woven" clothes for the - just in case of the real bad gash!

Throw in whatever else suits your fancy -- but your not stuck with silly items

A flotation vest is NOT required to be worn but it makes sense to do so. A 3 person or above waverunner it is considered a boat so a life vest needs to be available but it is not a requirement to wear it. Two passenger ski craft passengers are required to wear them.

As far as I'm concerned it's a required item.

No problem. I thought that your original question was what was required and what would the Marine Patrol be looking for. I figured you already knew what you required. My bad. I misunderstood.

Thanks for the replies. This is my first Jet Ski and I just want to make sure everyone that uses it is safe and has what's required if they get stopped by Marine Patrol but I won't let anyone use it without wearing a vest. What I like about it is it has two sets of keys so I can control how fast the user goes by what key I give them.
