The Hallmark store in Wolfeboro had a 'Going out of business, retiring' banner up in January, and February 1 there was a rapidly filling dumpster parked in front. Any idea what is going in there? Downtown Grille expansion maybe? They did a great job converting the former drugstore space they're in now...

The most popular rumor is that the near-by pet store, Winni-Paws, is moving to the Hallmark space. Time will tell. There is also a rumor that an existing local clothing shop will be moving into the to-be -vacated Winni-Paws space. Like I said, time will tell.

That's what I heard also - at least the Wolfeboro rumor mill is consistent

Cannot say enough for Winni-Paws. My first mate has a real knack for escaping his collar. Luckily we found a collar at Winni-Paws which he cannot escape.
Doesn't even try. --------------------------------------------------- I am a retired workaholic and continuing aquaholic. |

Wow, that store will be missed I'm sure. Stores have closed in my area too (Boston suburbs). They had great gifts and cards for every occasion. I'll miss it when I go to Wolfeboro next summer.
It's snowing to beat the band here, will spring ever come? |
