We enjoyed Lucas Roasting coffee in the summer from the Wolfeboro Farmers Market — they're newly located in Wolfeboro and are also participating in the Winter Farmers Market.
We just missed the opening of Burnt Timber Tavern in the Fall and won't be back to Wolfeboro until Spring. If anyone here has been there, please report. Posting social media sites for both places because more up to date than their websites, which is often the case with Lakes Region places. You don't have to be a member of Twitter or Facebook to view. Also posting link to Wolfeboro Winter Farmers Market. https://mobile.twitter.com/LucasRoasting https://www.facebook.com/LucasRoastingCompany https://www.facebook.com/burnt.timber.brewing/ https://www.burnttimbertavern.com https://wolfeboroareafarmersmarket.c...winter-market/ |

Burnt Timber is next door to Mise en Place. Your post gave me a start, so I checked their website and also phoned to confirm.

Thanks, Brownstone. Google Maps and Street View pointed me to Mise. I look forward to dining at both!

I’ve been to Burnt Timber a few times and enjoyed it. Good beer and food, friendly staff, and the selection changes weekly or as the kegs run out. I suspect it’ll be crowded in season.

Burnt timber Brewery and tavern is by far one of my new favorites! The beer is excellent and the food is just as good! Very small family owned and operated ! I’d love to see this little place go a long way ! You can purchase there beer at some case and kegs in the area and there beer is also available for enjoyment at tavern 27 across the lake.

Just reread things. Burnt Timber closes at 10 according to website. Mise en place closes at closing. Heh heh. Actually, Google says they also close at 10 so it must be true. Come to think of it, there's nothing I know of that's open in Wolfeboro after 10.

Interesting. Nolan's website says open till closing but Google has them closing at 9. Wolfe's Tavern website lists closing at 10 Friday and Saturday. All other days 9. These days 10 is past my bedtime so I can't say from experience. Have you been there after 10? Maybe just the mug holders (of which I am proudly one of).

It's perfectly understandable to me that, especially in the off-season, Wolfeboro restaurants are fuzzy about their closing times because it's an early town even in season and there's no point in an empty restaurant going to the expense of staying open in the unlikely event that a bunch of customers are going to happen by on the late side. Some take reservations and all have PHONE numbers — faster and more reliable to simply call about a specific night instead of trying to figure out from their websites or Facebook pages how late they'll be open. Except in busy urban areas, even if a restaurant posts its hours I'd never just show up near stated closing time. |

It is a very early town, but I've been served at El Centenario slightly after 11 as a walk-in, and although I haven't been to Jo Greens in years it's noisy quite late. Bar menu at Bayside also goes after 10, I believe.

Lakeside Coffee Shop & Ice Cream is scheduled to open on May 5 at 15 N. Main — I think it's the spot formerly occupied by Topperz. They say breakfast, lunch and dinner, with Italian pastry a specialty and I believe it because they're actual Italians — some posts on their Facebook are in Italian, which is kind of amusing. Looks creative and promising, albeit not exactly “lakeside.”
So this place and the Bridge Diner (which is getting good reviews) now in the Wolfeborough Diner's spot make two welcome new options for casual dining downtown. Yum Yum might make three, depending on what exactly it's going to be. http://www.lakesideicecreamcoffeeshop.com https://www.facebook.com/Lakeside-Ic...7962616633731/ |

Visited Burnt Timber tonight for the first time--thumbs up! I would not describe it as a "full" restaurant, more a small bar with some really good food. Inside are approximately 20 seats split between the bar, four two tops, and a couple of larger high tops that may be community tables as the place gets busy. Also seating on the porch around a fire--very nice. Beer and wine only--the beer was excellent with 7 craft brews available. Food was limited but very well prepared. I had a pulled pork sandwich, my son went with steak tips over Asian noodles. Everything was carefully prepared and delicious. Staff friendly and professional. We'll be back!

Sure have. Small place with some outside seating as well. Every time I’ve gone it hasn’t been crowed but the beers always cold!

I liked Burnt Timber but I liked Lone Wolfe on Mill Street just as much if not more. Great beer! Have not sample much of the food.

La Boca ( https://labocallc.com/ ) downtown Wolfeboro between Lake and Endicott streets is also excellent. They have a small and shaded outdoor patio, which is great on a hot summer day. They also have a bakery next door which supplies some of the best pre-dinner bread I have had.

Burnt Timber's beer and food game is on point. Ordered way more food than necessary and ate way more than we should have. The ballpark style nachos were fun. The braggot was tasty. Great taproom vibe.
