Fratello's used to do the same thing, where you would buy a gift card, and then they would give you a 2nd card that had an additional 20% on it.

We used to buy $500 cards to both Common Man and Fratello's every year. The Common Man one starts at 20% off, and then the discount amount decreases, so best to buy it as soon as they put the sale up.

Speaking of Fratello's my wife and I went to the Homestead on rt104 Saturday night, which is run by Fratello's, and it was very disappointing. My wife had steak tips which were tasteless along with mashed potatoes that tasted like instant potatoes.
I had a salad which was fine and pizza which tasted just like DiGorno's frozen pizza.
They are under renovation so it may be quite a while before I try it again.
